Level 2 Electric Vehicle Chargers
EVSE Installations
When buying a new Electric Vehicle, most people don’t realize the limitations that may be put on them by only having a standard 120V Level 1 charger. Level 2 chargers allow people to increase their charge times for their vehicles by up to 8 times. This allows them the luxury of using their vehicle when they need it and not have to save it for possible later drives. Smart chargers also allow drivers to charge their vehicles during off-peak hours, thus saving them additional money and putting less stress on the electrical grid. Our electricians will help you determine what your home electrical service can handle and how to get the maximum charge rate possible.
Strata Corporations
Electrical and EV Planning Reports
As of December 2023, regulations now specify the process for strata corporations to approve EV charging and require strata corporations, with more than 5 units, to obtain an electrical planning report. These reports must be obtained by no later than December 2026 in the Metro Vancouver Regional District, the Fraser Valley Regional District and the Capital Regional District (excluding the Gulf Islands). Kinectwest’s electrical team will ensure that you have all the required documentation that meets or exceeds the regulations outlined by the BC Provincial Government.

There are only 2 options to have your EV charger installed in an undersized service. First is a service upgrade. Second is to install a Load-Share device to share a Dryer circuit.
